monster love kid's valentine's rave

Tiny Monster Love Rave

I was asked to create a little Valentine's project for someone special for something special. Because I can never say no am always up for a party challenge, I happily obliged and whipped up this inspirational partyscape. This was a tiny little Valentine's set-up for easy DIY ideas and cuteness that can be found around the house. Handmade yarn monsters were my inspiration and starting point for this original little party. Lots of yarn, twine and kraft paper. Definitely non-traditional Valentine's Day color palette and theme-which is how I usually roll.

I asked the ridiculously talented Kori {Paper & Pigtails} to come on board and help me out with some added razzle dazzle. She also couldn't say no happily obliged and created some serious adorableness.

Enjoy the pics and the witty commentary. Come on, you know that is funny:)

Monster Love is adorable, furry and fun for girls and boys.

Heart Art created by my sons and glitter accented by me.
Trays lined with scraps of yarn.

Brown paper lunch bags trimmed with scalloped scissors.
Strands of yarn secure the bags.

My sons drew these pictures.
What a perfect way to show some Valentine's Love.

Heart felt garland embellish a kraft hat box.

Heart shaped cookie cutter used to add
even more cuteness to Pop Tarts.

Yarn strands wrapped around a box top serve
as a tiny, raised platter.
Custom designed paper I used as a liner by Paper & Pigtails.

Mini printable party banner designed by
Paper & Pigtails. I printed, cut and
threw glitter on it:)

Created a simple backdrop with kraft paper.

I strung banner together with kitchen twine.

I echoed the pattern Kori used in her banner on the
backdrop. I took yarn and glued into swirly patterns.
I then added felt hearts to coordinate.

Glitter rules!

Monster Juice. I used glue dots to
attach googly eyes to little glasses of
Kool Aid. Tray lined with another patterned
paper by Paper & Pigtails.

Handmade glittered heart flags class up
Ring Dings.

Added little scraps of yarn to the top of the glittered
flags. Paper doilies used under Ring Dings.

Soda Sips on a bed of scrap yarn.

Trident gum I wrapped in patterned paper by
Kori. Finished off with kitchen twine.
Presented on a platter of snazzy yarn scraps.

The stars of the rave!
I always make pom poms out of yarn.
My boys and I glued eyes, feet, feathers
and pipe cleaners to make sweet, fuzzy
yarn monsters. Such an easy and
fun project to do with the kids.

Amazing! I love the whole idea, and it would be great for class parties so the boys don't get all "pink-ed" out!

If I was wearing socks made of yarn, they'd be off my feet and unraveled so I could make ADORABLE monsters and a backdrop!

Pure. Talent.
