Carolyn is brilliant. She is an extraordinary full service event planner. You may have no idea who she is, but you should. She has skills most of us will spend a lifetime trying to acquire. She plans and styles exceptional children's events, weddings and corporate events. She works for some of the most high profile and elite clients in the world. She is the real deal. She loves her work creating memorable, unique and beautiful events for her clients. I recently saw awe-inspiring photos from an event she designed and styled-a Purple Palooza for sweet girl's birthday. I spied with my little eye a White Tiger with a purple collar. Enough said.

She also has a division of her empire which provides inspiration and decoration installations for the holidays. With wedding season I did not have time to get it touched up before I went to NYC for bridal market. The night before I left, i went to the drug store and bought hair dye, half hour later my hair was jet black (usually dark brown) My industry friends all did a double take! It is SO dark!!

I am a lova of all things Brittany. I have been charmed by her since the very second I gazed upon her work. I have been following her shine for several years and she continues to amaze and inspire me. Brittany is an event planner with a twist of fabulous. Her focus is on stellar and meaningful children's parties. She blogs about parties, crafts, tips and tricks for entertaining. She is extremely creative and clever. She is a lover of handmade. The children's events she designs are stunningly gorgeous, but also designed for actual children. She always plans activities that are realistic, fun and engaging for the kids. She works alongside Sara-who is another unbelievable party rockstar. Electric & dynamite duo for sure.

One Charming Party recently started offering digital party plan packages in their shop. I cannot find the words to describe how beautiful and inspirational these downloadable party kits are. These party kits contain unique ideas, tutorials, recipes, sources, printables and ridiculous inspiration. The photos are epic. My husband got a new truck about a year ago that seats all of us so I drive his old car if I only have the kids and we all ride in the truck if we are going somewhere as a family. My minivan just sits in our driveway now.

• favorite holiday? Christmas. I like to give presents. I like the cold weather. I like the general feeling of love around Christmas time.

• favorite color?

Is it okay that I don't have one?! I like certain color combinations - anything brown/green (my wedding colors), teal/red, metallics... the list is endless.

• favorite team?
Being a NJ born girl, I will have to say the Yankees.... I also like the Carolina Panthers now that I am a NC transplant. The Panthers are really horrid this year, it's getting painful to watch.

• if you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Pasta. Any kind. Fettuccine, Spaghetti, Ravioli, Mac&Cheese (not really pasta, and my Italian grandparents would NOT approve, but whatev). Pasta is heaven and if I ate it for every meal, I would be a) sleepy and b) huge. But I would be way happy.

• party trend you are crushing on?
I like the "natural, rustic" look. Branches, twigs, etc. It's funny, because for my own wedding, I had a "no branch" rule. I didn't want branches in flowers arrangements or any natural type stuff. Isn't it funny how your tastes change?

• party trend you are so over?
Woodland creatures. I am aware this is a type of natural theme, so I am sort of contradicting myself... I think the parties have been so great and creative with the woodland creatures, red/white mushroom caps, but I am OVER IT! No more squirrels!

• favorite aisle in the craft store?
Ribbon, Scrapbook paper and $1 bin. This isn't a question, but my least favorite aisle has to be fake florals. Not cool.

• do you wear Uggs?
I am so glad you asked this question. When I was in college (Miami University of Ohio -- what what), all the girls had Uggs. I needed these furry, warm boots for walking to class/bars ha. But I did NOT want Uggs because every girl and her mother had these boots... So, to be different, I ordered Minnetonka Moccasins. Which look exactly like uggs, but aren't. And 6 years later, I pull those bad boys out every winter. In fact, I wore them to the grocery store today. They are in my list of favorite possessions, and I am pleased to say they are NOT Uggs (but they look like them).

• do you really exercise?
So, I am a big phase person. One of my goals in life is to be a constant workout person (i.e. get up everyday at 5:30 and work out 5 days a week.) What actually happens is that I work out for a month straight and am totally gung ho. Then I go out of town or get off my routine, and it takes me about 3 months to get back into it. It's terrible, I don't know what to do.

• minivan or non minivan driving?
Well, I don't have kids, so at the moment no. I will say, when I was younger, we didn't have a minivan and I begged my mom to get one because all my friends moms had them. (She didn't.)

• favorite holiday?
I will be cliche and say Christmas, but I enjoy Thanksgiving as sometimes it's on my birthday. Is my birthday a choice for favorite holiday?

• favorite smell?
Something delicious baking in the oven.

• do you color your hair?
Nope. I did in college... went lighter and darker. One time the hairdresser went crazy and when I asked for auburn, it turned out purple. That was unfortunate.

• do you think you’re cool?
Yea! I think I'm a good time for sure! I think it's important to know your good qualities but also know what you need to work on. Recognizing your flaws and positives is super healthy, and I am proud to say I think I'm cool! (If there was a flaw question, I could kill that one too)

She is an amazing party stylist. She's sweet, sunny and a smartie. Like, wicked smart. She's a former middle school teacher, and a current music/voice teacher. She's been--a model, actress, and singer, and floral designer. She's visited four continents and she speaks several languages...Ummmm..I think I can see where she gets her insane amount of ideas. • favorite color?
Historically, it has always been blue. But now that I'm older, I'm realizing that I haven't met a color I didn't like in the right context. (There may, however, be certain shades of some colors that I don't like.)

• favorite team?
Uh.....um.......Phoenix Suns? I have not followed any team closely for a long time. I was really excited about the Suns back in '93, but that was many players and coaches ago (and it makes me sound old). Don't ask me who's currently on their roster. I'm an embarrassment of a Phoenician.

• if you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Ooooo....Tough question! Especially for me, because I'm the kind of gal that hates to order the same thing twice! I always love to try new things. Maybe ice cream, if we could pretend that it would be healthy and full of vitamins, so I would feel great after eating it!

• party trend you are crushing on?
Fun photobooths and/or photo ops. You can adapt them for most every kind of party. I love the one where you build a fake wall with frames in it and put your faces in the frames. Plus they help document the people at the party and can serve double duty as thank you cards.

• party trend you are so over?
Putting a picture of whatever the theme of the party is all over every food item and decoration at the party. I'd rather create an atmosphere that feels like the theme, than just declare the theme by having its' picture everywhere.

• favorite aisle in the craft store?
I get lost in them all! Maybe holiday decorations? I know...CLEARANCE holiday decorations!

• do you wear Uggs?
Never have. Probably would if I lived in a climate where they wouldn't make me sweat. And if I found them on CLEARANCE! (Notice a pattern?)

• do you really exercise?
Yes. I mean...I ordered some work-out shorts that I'm really planning to use...once the weather is cool enough/I get through the next party I am planning/I make it through the holidays/the baby takes longer naps. You, know...soon. Does bouncing the baby on my lap while blogging count?

I'm a minivan mama! Carpools and all!

• favorite holiday?
Christmas. Although I think I enjoyed it more before I was the Mom and the entire responsibility for this holiday fell on me! Thanksgiving is actually high on the list, too. I don't think it gets enough publicity.

I'm going with citrus, although there are many others I like as well. Nothing like the smell of fresh squeezed orange juice or lemon zest!

• do you color your hair?
Some of them--when I can't handle the gray anymore. I wish I had the time and money to do it more often and maybe more interestingly.

Of course I'm cool! I'm on the Purple Pug's 365 days of creative coolness! If I wasn't cool before, I certainly am now!
