You must RSVP by tonight (9/23/10), at Midnight,

Visit Children's Party Network for deets

The idea: One party theme, two amazing teams in two different time zones will each create a vision of fabulousity. These unique tablescapes will showcase brilliant design ideas, amazing partyware and creative collaboration of our party loving peers.

The Dirty Deets:

The theme: Children’s Party Network members will be able to suggest any idea for the overall theme! That means YOU! The tablescape will be for a children’s New Year’s Dessert Table, theme to be suggested by one of you! Once all the themes are out there, three of our CPN Contributors, Chris, Kim & Debbie will make the final decision of the theme.

We will be tapping into the CPN talent to make this all come to life.

Tablescape 1, West Coast - Styled by Natalie and a creative crew of YOU-party professionals, designers, creative types, famous people & party mamas who can contribute partyware and ideas for the cause.
Team West Coast will consist of party chicks closer to the beautiful Blue Pacific Ocean side of our United States.

Tablescape 2, East Coast – Styled by Kristy and a creative crew of YOU-party professionals, designers, creative types, famous people & party mamas who can contribute partyware and ideas for the cause. Team East Coast will consist of party chicks up and down the East Coast and and the dirty brown beautiful Atlantic Ocean side of our United States.

Both teams will create an original tablescape based on the theme. We are very excited to see the finished designs come together. Completed tablescapes will be photographed and showcased.

This is a golden opportunity to work together, brainstorm and have FUN doing something that we all love. Be supportive of each other, have a few laughs and be a part of something extraordinary. This is our unique & original idea to unite the industry in a novel experiment.

Ready to put your right foot in and, then your right foot out, put your right foot in and you shake it all about?

Interested yet? Are you up for this challenge? Would you like to participate and show your Party Patriotism?

Please let us know as soon as possible if you would like to participate and which side of the country you reside in!

And please shout out any ideas you have regarding a theme.

the boo crew halloween photo shoot

I recently had the opportunity to participate in a Not So Spooky-Kids' Halloween Party photo shoot. Tablescapes were styled by the seriously fabulous, Pam of Party Starters fame. A bunch of amazing party girls rose to the occasion and created some ridiculously beautiful and extraordinary partyware.I think everyone's goods coordinated perfectly and I think Pam did a phenomenal job. It was thrilling to be a part of and I was so excited to see the completed setup. You can see my glittery centerpiece flags in some of the pics.

Bonnie, of Sadie Days Photography captured the adorableness for the world to see:)

Thank you Pam, for being such an amazing inspiration and letting me be a part. Thank you, extraordinary party chicks, for making such clever and beautiful items and for working together as a party & Pam loving family and for no catfighting... Meow:)

Are you secretive?

Are you secretive and mysterious when planning the deets for your parties? Do you keep all the specifics on the DL or just throw them out there for public record. I have always been on Team Mystery, but now that I uncontrollably blab on this blog, I find myself giving up details and projects that I would normally save as a surprise for my guests!

On one hand, I am super excited to share my original ideas, details and crafty projects as I move along. I love coming up with unique party themes/projects and I am a detail freak - I get excited to share them with like minded party peeps who appreciate these kinds of crazy things. On the other hand, I fear that some sinister person will rip off said ideas and projects and claim them as their own-or worse- for some lame-o to race to have their party before mine using my stolen and fabulous ideas as their own. On the other hand-wait-that is three hands now? LOL! I adore the elements of surprise and wonder when people walk into a fully decked out and decorated room. I rarely let my own kids see finished party products because I love for them to be razzle dazzled on party day.

Tough call for me..Not sure if letting it all hang out before the party is actually equivalent to me stealing my own party thunder:) LOL!

What do you do?

the sunday edition news....

This past week has been a roller coaster of emotion for me.

Monday was simply one of the most difficult days of my life. I will do anything and everything for equal rights for my son. Period.

Tuesday was an exciting &  important day for my amazing web chick and friend-Amy. She is the mastermind behind my site design, Twitter Design, Facebook Pup, Etsy shop design, and all of my buttons, banners and most cool graphics you see on my web real estsate. She is the best in the west. She has launched a business for web design work, called 3 Cupcakes Design, and I wish her nothing but success and happiness always. If you have been contemplating a blog design or update or anything else, please check out her sweet skills:)

Wednesday was one of the best days of my life-ME-Martha Stewart's Doer of the Week. I am still astounded and so eternally grateful. The support from the party universe has been enormous and amazing. This is something that means the world to me. When people truly share in your happiness and success, it makes life all the sweeter. I will never forget those that showed such genuine support for me and my work.

Friday, I took my very sweet mother-in-law out and about to run errands and then to lunch. When we returned to my vehicle, for reasons unknown, said mother-in-law produced a bottle of Windsong perfume from her purse and proceeded to spray herself with it. In my car. With windows shut. Enough said about Friday.

Tonight is Children's Party Network Launch Eve. My dear friend, Nifty Natalie, of Little Shindigs, had a dream to start up a network for professional party people, party mamas and anyone in between to talk shop and inspiration for kids' parties. All kids and parties-all of the time. I am honored that Natalie has asked me to be a major contributor to this amazing venue. I will be featuring blog posts, parties, discussions and I have tons of secret stuff up my glittery sleeve:) There will be several other fabulous contributors as well and I am sure the network will be an inspiring resource for everyone. Just honored to be part of such an extraordinary network.

That's the all the news behind the Purple Curtain. Looking forward to another week of sparkling adventure:) Party on...

The Rainbow Felt Pumpkin Takeout Boxes....

These are vintage Purple Pug Favor Boxes. I used to embellish take out boxes with all designs in fabulous felt. I created these back in the day, before Michael's even had takeout boxes, let alone a takeout box aisle:) Rainbow felt pumpkins, glitter accented-of course. And oldie, but goodie. I just love Halloween:)

Day two. Martha Stewart's Dreamer into Doer of the Week...

Dreamer. Doer. Glitterer. Mama. Housework avoider.

Totally surprised. Honored. Ridiculously Excited. Thankful. Thrilled. Ecstatic. Peaceful. Lucky. Beyond grateful.

Dreamer into Doer of the week. I owe it all to the glitter:)

the purple pup {baby shower partyware}

I received a very interesting  and special request last week. A fabulous client is helping to throw a baby shower for her sister-a sweet sister who has a pug that she adores. The request was to use actual The Purple Pug design on the partyware. I added a bib and a pacifier to the Purple Pug and POOF-The Purple Pup was born. The Mom To Be also likes gray/silver so it was easy to add that into the color mix. Super cute. Wishing you showers of happiness and love, Eileen:)

the rocket pop palooza....

party mama made these amazing crayons.
*if you are in the NY Metro area, you
may find there are no crayons on store shelves. This
is NOT due to school supply issues. This is
solely due to Katie and the 1000s of crayons
it took to make one of these little gems;)
Craft on, Mama!

glitter stickers shimmering in the sunshine

party circles on a galvanzied tub
filled with radical rocket pops

 clay-could that be any cuter?

 centerpiece flags & party circles
for a little glitta

 bears gotta eat too

rice krispie treats on popsicle sticks

 said client made that
 fabulous garland and banner.

rocket pop soaps served as the
perfect party favor

 popsicle stick picture frames craft

 glitter stickers on favor bags

 see ya, summer!

One of my ridiculously amazing clients wanted to host one last party playdate for the kiddos before the summer was over. She discussed it with her darling children and they decided that a Rocket Pop Palooza was the only proper & perfect way for a summer send-off:) Lots of rocket pops. Lots of red, white and blue. Lots of charm. Lots of glitter. Lots of smiles. Perfect party, indeed.
