It's on like Donkey Kong...

So. My little chimp decided his birthday theme this year should be Donkey Kong. Who am I to deny my little dude giddy birthday happiness? Donkey Kong it is. He fell hard for the character plates from the Birthday Express catalog-so those are my starting point for this Ape-ril Rave...My kids always sweat the characters. This year, I am challenging myself to use licensed items to create a Donkey Kong vibe without me actually recreating Donkey Kong on my partyware designs or using a printable.

I hope you will join me on this little, banana scented adventure:)

Up first, the invite. Totally inspired by this fabulous little find here. I changed it up a tiny bit and added banana scent to the felt + stock. Bananas, no?

number one...

Invitation Number One. This was the very first birthday invitation I ever designed-for my own beautiful son's First Birthday. I saw this Love Is... cartoon in the comics shortly after Griffin was born. I saved this perfect idea in the back of my mind. I knew it was going to be on his First Birthday invitation immediately. It was an extraordinary feeling to be able to design an invitation for a little person that I loved so much.  I wanted everyone to know how important this day was to us...
Birthday Invitation Number One. Way before the glitter days, but I would have not changed a thing about this invitation. It was designed with polka dots, ribbon, vellum, brads, a perfect little picture, and love beyond measure-for our perfect, shiny little GEM.

honeypot & some bees....

Howdy. Hope the holiday weekend is fab so far...Catching up on my posting and adding products to the shop.
Just finished up these invitations for an awesome repeat customer. These invites are for their daughter, a sweet little "hunny" turning two--who loves Pooh. I designed these to coordinate with her party theme and plate pattern.
No one can deny the fact that kids looooove their certain characters. As much as I thought I would never do a character party for my own children, I found it impossible to avoid once my kids were of age when they actually could talk and help plan their parties:) I love the challenge of coordinating with a character, show or movie and trying to find the charm and beauty in what my child is so endeared by. Trust me....sometimes it is verrrrrry challenging. LOL! There are many clever ways to incorporate little touches without going insane and looking like a party goods catalog exploded in your house! LOL!
I think these invitations are perfect for a Pooh and Friends party. Handmade, beautiful and lots of glitter and honey:) Thank you for the honor of your repeat business, Amy.
