In the hallway before parting, they realized that they had a lot in common - the love of all things paper, parties, design and art. From there a wonderful friendship formed and they decided to embark upon a business together! • do you wear Uggs? Actually I have the Argyle Knit Cream Uggs - they are super cool, unlike the plain tan ones.

• do you really exercise? If I have daily nightmares about it, does that count?

• minivan or non minivan driving? - NON-MINIVAN - in fact, I had my husband sign a contract before we were married stating I would never drive a mini-van and he could never ask me to drive one (it's signed,dated & witnessed from 1998, I think)

• favorite holiday? Christmas (I start listening to Christmas songs in October... this year, I started in September)

• favorite smell? A really great Man's cologne or a freshly painted room in your house... or the Ocean

• do you color your hair? Unfortunately, yes

• favorite color? Blue - almost any shade.


• favorite team? Team Anders Ruff! To be honest, I don't even follow sports. In college, I'd go to Michigan games just so that I could hang out w/ my friends - I never paid a lick of attention to what was actually going on. However, if I had to choose a team it would be the Duke Blue Devils (husband follows his team religiously so I am grandfathered into the obsession, I suppose) I guess University of Michigan, since I do have love for my alma mater and Ann Arbor is my FAV.

• if you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Pomegranates (and Salt and Vinegar Potato chips - gotta balance the sweet and salty)

• party trend you are crushing on? Personalized everything (Favor tags, place cards, banners, food labels....)

• party trend you are so over? Favor Bags that = Bag o'Junk

• favorite aisle in the craft store? Wrapping and packaging, scrapbook section, baking... holiday. Basically the whole store except for beads. Not a fan of beads.

• do you wear Uggs? Nope

• do you really exercise? 2x/week minimum - Zumba, baby! Ok, I took a few days off when Adria and I were up til 3 am working on photoshoots. I crave zumba class! Great for mind and bod.

• minivan or non minivan driving? NON minivan. I can see the appeal for space with kids, but I just won't do it. I have an SUV but I'm a sedan kinda girl. I was determined to keep driving my Saab 9-3 when my son was born, until I realized the car seat literally wouldn't fit unless the driver seat was so close to the wheel that I would be driving granny style- and I have long legs so that was the end of that dream.

• favorite holiday? Christmas and Halloween

• favorite smell? Holiday cooking - Cinnamon, nutmeg, christmas cookies, pumpkin spices, mmm.

• do you color your hair? I have my hair stylist add in some blonde highlights to make it pop - my hair is blonde anyhow, but I love the fresh feel of blonde highlights!

• do you think you’re cool? Would you even want to interview us if we were NOT cool? Ha!

She calls the sticks the marshmallows are on "stix," which I think is way clever and memorable. She can design anything you can dream up to coordinate with with your party. I have always been a lova of donuts. I could seriously could live on Black Raspberry jelly filled, cinnamon sugar coated donuts. {with a gallon of Diet Dr. Pepper} I am a donut advocate. I have also been featuring darling donuts for years at my parties and events-way before they were trendy.  Oh, and the dos are now very trendy, hip, hot and happening:)

One fine day, I stumbled upon Dough a Deer and I fell even deeper into donut love. Nicole is the head baker- the Donut Diva. She is amazing, funny, charming and creates the cutest little donuts I have ever seen. Ever. They can be used for parties, favors, weddings, promotions, eating and gazing upon. They are tiny works of art that she can create in any flavor or color. Beautiful and totally delicious.

Nicole is talented. Nicole is clever. Nicole is kind-she has graciously DOUGHnated little donuts to both the East Coast and West Coast Tablescapes...And they are aDOUGHrable. I adore Nicole. I adore her donuts. Totally crushing on the Donut Girl..DOUGHn't you think she is fabulous? Come on, you know that's funny.

.favorite color?-My favourite colour WAS orange until I started my business, now it's PINK....can you tell? :)

.favorite team?-I don't watch sports ever because I get bored easily haha. My husband is a hardcore Arsenal fan (english soccer [football] team)so I am an Arsenal fan by default I suppose even though I never watch it...I just listen to him yell at the tv and I ALWAYS look up the score before he watches it so I know if he's going to be in a good mood or not.

.if you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?-Definitely mac and cheese. MMmmMMmmmm

.party trend you are crushing on?- I am digging the doughnut trend, obviously but i LOVEEEEEEEEE the dessert and candy table trends! They are so party perfect. :)

.party trend you are so over?-I am soooo sorry because I don't want to insult people but I am kinda over the cupcake thing. I was on board when it was around and now I just am bored of it.

.favorite aisle in the craft store?-The one with all the sprinkles of course =]

.do you wear Uggs?- I do not wear uggs...It is getting cold so I kinda wish I had a pair now haha.

.do you really exercise?- nooooo. I always say I am going to then forget or pretend to forget. The new place we are moving into in november has a great gym and a tennis court and a racquetball court so I am going to start...like really this time. lol

.minivan or non minivan driving?- Very non minivan. When we have kids I'll have a crossover...i LOVEEEEE crossovers!!! But if my husband has it his way, I WILL be a soccer mom...

.favorite holiday?- Halloween...hands down. I also like the winter holidays but not for the holidays...I like it for the weather, the smells, the cheer in the air!

.favorite smell?-Cinnamon rolls and french toast. MmMm. Oh and when the hubby wears Usher cologne...so does that mean my favourite smell is Usher?

1. favorite color? I love a pop or orange.


2. favorite team? Which ever one has one of my boys' names on the roster.

3. if you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Since I'm guessing that Diet Coke is not considered a food, I'll go with cheese.

4. party trend you are crushing on? Anything that is old school. Remember the good ol' days of pin the tail on the donkey? Love adding a bit of retro in today's world. Or a little Mad Men trend for the bigger party goers. Simple is beautiful and I think there is a lot to be said for that.

5. party trend you are so over? Folks out there do such an amazing job creating beautiful parties. But rather than just replicating inspiration boards, I'd like to see more people change it up and draw ideas and then make it their own. For example, a buffet doesn't need to be lined up in neat little rows. This is a tough one for me, don't want to bite the hand that feeds me ;-)

6. favorite aisle in the craft store? Pens. I love the way a new pen feels and how the right pen can make my handwriting so much more fun.

7. do you wear Uggs? I live in the Northeast, we ski, I spend time in hockey rinks, I believe in being warm. So yes, I wear Uggs. But I also have a closet full of really cool shoes and boots!

8. do you really exercise? I do. It may not be every day but I love my skinny jeans and unfortunately they come with some body maintenance.

9. minivan or non-minivan driving? I drive the evil for Mother Nature...a big SUV. It may not be eco-friendly but during those 10 hour car rides we do three times a year...it's awesome.

10. favorite holiday? Christmas at our cottage in my little slice of heaven - Muskoka. That's where our big ol' SUV takes us.

11. favorite smell? Every other Friday after my cleaning hero leaves my house.

12. do you color your hair? Yes, I enhance what my momma gave me.
