Terri is a fabulous and fashionable firecracker. She is funny, witty and charming. From her Twitter bio:  "i believe in pink, glitter, shoes, sequins, shopping, sarcasm & laughing at inappropriate times." LOL. She cracks me up. Terri blogs about life, fashion, shoes, kids, crafting and shoes....Did I mention shoes? Girlfriend is a serious shoe lova. favorite color? PINK, Pink, pink and more pink w/ glitter mixed in! I am the girliest girl ever!

• favorite team? GO GATORS! I'm born, raised and currently Southern. SEC football is like huge! I know almost nothing about the sport. But my honey forces it upon me by buying me adorable Gator apparel from the Pink Collegiate Collection. {love} !!!

• if you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Hmm..Bread.. CARBS!

• party trend you are crushing on? Alice in Wonderland. Seriously, have you seen the cuteness out there??!

• party trend you are so over? Double birthdays/One party for non-twin siblings. I think each kiddo should have their very own party despite having a birthday close to their sibling.

• favorite aisle in the craft store? Paper!!

• do you wear Uggs? Only to walk the dogs. Never as part of my "outfit". I don't think I've ever worn them in public.

• do you really exercise? It's against my religion. <-- Yep, just made that up!

• minivan or non minivan driving? None. I feel that's too "Mom". I may have a 9 & 4 year old, but helloooo.. I'm only 27! ;)

• favorite holiday? Can the whole month of August be a holiday? My birthday and both of my kiddos birthdays. August is awesomesauce!

• favorite smell? A freshly cleaned home.

• do you color your hair? Just recently. As in I started this past Summer. I was dying it dark, dark brown. Almost black. But I'm way too naturally fair to keep it dark during the winter when I don't tan as often.

• do you think you’re cool? According to me, totally! Ask my 9 year old, "Mom, you are so not cool! You're embarrassing!" I've heard it only gets worse.. HA!

It all started with the pinata...A Very Colorful Christmas.

Call me Quickie Crafty Colorful Christmas Kristy.

I knew Christmas Day dinner would be at my house. I seriously had no idea what I was going to do for decorating and set up of my Christmas Day food & dining tables until last Wednesday-two days before..LOL! We went to a holiday party in my 2nd grade son's classroom and he showed us this beautiful pinata he had made the week before. I knew in an instant I wanted to use this pinata somewhere very special for Christmas.

It all started with the piñata - colorful, beautiful and created by my sweet boy. I was instantly inspired to design the Christmas Day celebration around it. But...it was only two days before Christmas! I had to get crafty and creative-use what I had on hand- because I really would not have any time to shop for goods.
I added some streaming ribbon to the underside of the piñata and had a perfect backdrop for the food buffet table. So vibrant and so cute. My son was so excited!

Do not ask me how, but I stumbled upon this beautiful and fabulous branch idea, here. This crafty chick used high class felted balls for her project, but Crafty Kristy had no time and had to use the cheaper second cousin-the value pack of craft pom poms...Branches came from my front yard. They looked adorable as the centerpiece for the appetizer table. I also used aforementioned craft poms to create a holder for the napkins for that table.

I knew I would be using white dishes on the dining table..so I designed a quick scape with pops of color. I also took craft pom poms and hot glued them onto beautiful pink/white baker's twine and made little pom pom garlands for my mini Christmas trees. I used two of the trees with the pom/twine garlands as the centerpieces for the dining table. I also wrapped each guests white salad plate with a different color of twine and attached a simple name tag that I added a little bling too:) The place settings were all different and colorful and made everyone happy.

I had made snow buddies with my son's class on Wednesday and we had made some extras at home, so I used them near the window for added cuteness and color.

I smiled looking around the room. Brilliant colors, a perfect tissue paper piñata my boy had made, ribbons, pom poms, twine, white ware, a little bling, and charming little snowdudes my guys had made.  Colorful Christmas tables-ready to spread the love and happiness on Christmas afternoon.

And then...on Christmas morning...My younger son handed us a wrapped gift..Something he had made in school. He hid it from us for weeks and he was so excited to give the present he made to me and his daddy. I opened it up and my heart just melted. It was a plate..A little plate with his picture in the middle that he had decorated with colorful tissue paper and glitter-exactly the same colors and tissue papers that his brother had used in the piñata! It was the perfect match, the final piece for our Christmas beauty that we did not even know was missing. His sweet masterpiece was the extraordinary finishing touch for our table. Such a gift. We put that right in the middle of the dining table-and that little boy was beaming.

I know this post is a little bit "chicken soup for the soul-ish," but it was just one of those beautiful moments you get when you have the honor of being a mother. It makes you realize and appreciate what is truly important. A perfectly lined up dessert table is fab. A table where there is heart, love and soul is way beyond fab.

Crushing on one Way Beyond Fab Party Chick, 70/365: Dawn, Not Just a Mommy

I adore Dawn. She is hilarious. She is sweet and supportive of everyone. She is a wicked party stylist. She is clever. She is a Math Major- I know, right? Smartie. She is also real, honest and cracks me up when she talks about her adventures in life and parties. When she gets out of control with her grandiose party/crafting/decorating/baking plans she takes a breath , keeps calm and tries to "reel in the crazy."L.O.L. Of course she blogs about all things party, inspiration, tips, and ideas. She is no stranger to the glue gun- girlfriend loves to craft. Major Crush on the Math Major. Creative, clever and beautiful party chick. One day I will meet her and give her a Pug Smooch and a piece of Pi....Come on, you know that is funny:)

7. do you wear Uggs? Can't afford them, I have Skechers which at first glance look just like Uggs, until I walk by and it doesn't say UGGS

8. do you really exercise?  I do! Zumba Mon & Wed, kickboxing Friday!

9. minivan or non-minivan? No minivan, no longer need to lug strollers, playpens and diapers

10. fave holiday? Mother's Day, I love the gifts my kids make for me & every 4 years it falls on my birthday, so I get really rocking gifts!

11. fave smell? How I smell, or scent in general? I have this amazing perfume from L'Occitane, Verbena; it's a citrus blend because I love the scent of lemon, I have like every type of lemon candle/plugin/housespray there is.

12. do you color your hair? Yes and no, my hair is in braids and she adds different colors in to them.

13. do you think you are cool? In my mind I'm cool, but because I've met some amazing people who are doing awesome things in this world and I think they are cool and I'm nowhere near what they are accomplishing. You probably wanted a yes/no answer. Dude, how can I answer that without coming off conceited or self-degrading? :)

The Seriously Unplanned Holiday Goody Bag....

Sometimes the perfect party ideas and inspirations come from totally unexpected places....

I created a sweet new item to my shop a few months ago-♥Heart Art♥  The basic idea is- your little sweetheart creates the art, I glitter embellish and use the completed masterpiece to create one-of-a-kind, meaningful and beautiful favor packaging. ♥

I was very excited to use the Heart Art for some kind of Holiday Packaging for my sons' holiday parties and gifts. Both of my little guys drew an adorable little snowdude. My younger son has a huge kindergarten class, so I create his Heart Art as personalized stickers tags and affixed them to cellophane bags. No problem-they looked adorable. My 2nd grader son has a very small class, and  I decided I would take his snowdude art and create handmade tags to hang with ribbon on cellophane bags. I was excited to be able to make the tags with my own child's artwork.

I created the tags. I glitter accented the little snowmen in the colors my son had drew him in. I had the crystal clear cellophane bags..I had the patterned ribbon ready to go. Each child in my son's class was getting a Hot Wheels Car and a Color Coordinating Candy Cane in the cellophane bag, wrapped with the beautiful ribbon with hangtag. Each of his five amazing teachers were to get their gifts wrapped in the same beautiful way.

The plan...the presentation was beautiful...The night before the school party, I asked my son to help me assemble these bags for his friends & teachers and something important and unexpected happened. He wanted to put each child's name on the tag. I told him no way. I told him they were glittered and and textured paper and he could not write on the tags. He became very upset. He said he needed to put each child's name on the tag because he wanted to pick the special color Hot Wheels car he knew his friend would like. He wanted to make sure he gave each of his classmates something they would be so happy to get because he wants them to be happy. I paused, listened to my beautiful boy and I heard him. I understood. We got a black Sharpie and he tried so hard to write on the cellophane bags and they just smudged. Smudged and black ink all over. There was no time to go to any store, so I had to use what I had on hand. White handled bags were the only thing I had available that we could really use.

My sweet little boy took his time and wrote each of his classmates' name on a bag. He sorted through the Hot Wheels cars and picked out the perfect one for each child. I attached each tag to the bag with colorful baker's twine. The completed goody bags were not what I had envisioned-they far exceeded anything I could ever envision, design or create. My son is an extraordinary little boy with a heart so thoughful and loving. If you know me, you know my son and will know why this is so meaningful to me on so many levels. These are simply the most beautiful gift bags I have ever seen.
